The Catalog Drawings are continuous line drawings based on taxidermy catalog images. The line, both active and descriptive, explores how taxidermy is an attempt to make a static object appear alive and on the edge of movement, and examines the tension of using a somewhat absurd object as a placeholder for an almost entire animal. The forms vary greatly in detail and cover an incredible array of possibilities from domestic animals like coon hounds to the most exotic and unlikely "trophies", whole or in parts. Half a bear, anyone? Let’s make it two even though two halves will not make a whole.
